VINTAGE 1938 IDEAL-O-CRAFT WOODEN SHIP MODEL "GREAT REPUBLIC" Up for auction is a vintage 84 year old wooden model of the Great Republic  sailing ship. This kit was produced in the late 30's by the Ideal Aero plane and Supply company as part of their "Ideal-O-Craft" line with a wood composition molded hull which eliminated the work of carving the hull from a block of wood.  In addition to the hull the kit includes sheets of printed wood parts, various pieces of dowel and strip-wood, full plans including a rigging diagram, and a packet of glue mix.  The hull is about 11 inches long.  The kit is complete and in the original box.  The parts are still in the original wrapping paper which is then wrapped in the plans as it was at the factory.  The box & instruction papers are old ,yellowed and fragile, possibly torn along some end flap.  An interesting historic relic from the era before plastic kits Please examine photos and ask questions--photos are part of the description, Made in the USA Be sure to check out our other auctions for more vintage interesting items we have listed.
