Vintage 1949 wood ship model kit, a “Clipper-Built” Line from the Marine Model Company, “City of New York” No. 1114.
Model kit is unassembled, includes carved wood hull, die cut wood parts, tapered masts and spars, cast and finished fittings, two spools of thread, pins, and printed deck detail.
Kit does NOT include assembly instructions. Please see photos for condition of original box and kit parts.
Originally a Norwegian vessel, the clipper “City of New York” was Admiral Richard Byrd’s flagship during his 1928 Antarctic expedition.
