The Tamiya 1/48 Lockheed Martin F-35 B Lightning II Model Airplane Kit is designed after one of the most technologically advanced fighter jets ever made. The F-35 first took flight under the A variant back in 2006, while the B variant was introduced in July of 2015. This variant, used by the U.S Marine Corps, is designated as STOVL or Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing. Tamiya has faithfully recreated this jet into one of the most detailed STOVL models made.

Attention To Detail
On first looks at the completed model, modelers will love the scale panel lines and rivet holes found all over the model. This model can be built in one of three positions; Parked, Short Take-Off, or Vertical Landing. The detailed components and tubing around the turbine and within the bomb bays add to the scale presence this model gives.
Scale Detail
Tamiya left no stone unturned, as mentioned above, scale hydraulics, scale fan blades, scale ladder, and so much more. Each of the three build types also features different settings for flaps, landing gear configuration, and duct openings. The water-transfer decals are also created in scale detail to depict 7 marking options from three countries.
Quality Build
Tamiya is known for high quality models, however, this one takes this to the next level. Each part is carefully molded with extreme detail. This model features many parts and parts trees that are exclusive to the F-35 B. Tamiya includes a stand that can be built to help display the vertical landing positions. NOTE:
