Sunshine Models 25.25 PFE R-30/40-9 Rebuilt Wood sheathed reefer

Here is your chance to enhance your modeling skills while enjoying completion of a fine scale craftsman kit. This item is a very accurate Sunshine Model Company HO scale model kit (#25.25) of a Pacific Fruit Express 40' rebuilt ice reefer. The prototype cars numbered 7,869 cars making this class the largest class of PFE ice reefers and the largest class of ice reefers operated in the United States during the late steam era. The kit is primarily resin construction with resin roof, sides ends and underbody. The kit comes with an etched metal running board and brake wheel platform. You must provide the trucks and couplers and added weight. The other detail parts such as grabs, brake parts, ladders, hoses, brackets, hand brakes, running board and stirrup steps are provided with the kit. The kit is unpainted and decals are provided. The kit comes with extensive prototype information and assembly instructions. Many photos are also included in the prototype information handout. Sunshine Models is no longer in business and these cars are highly sought after by PFE modelers. Kits of this vintage  lack the following items : Trucks, weight and couplers
