For your consideration... A model boat kit of the "Joseph Conrad," an iron hulled ship launched in 1882 in Denmark. Having been used as a training ship by the Danish and United States navies and as a private yacht, the ship is now one of the museum vessels docked at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, CT. The kit was originally purchased in 1995 from BlueJacket Ship Crafters in Searsport, Maine. The hull, which I believe to be plastic, was planked by the prior owner who also did some work on other pieces as seen in the photos. Three sheets of plans for building the ship are included along with a booklet of general instructions on boat building. There are also some photos of the actual ship compiled for reference by the prior owner. The cradle the hull sits on in the photos is included. The pieces in photos 13, 16 and 19 seem to be wood except for the rod in the lower right corner of photo 19 which is metal. That rod is also pictured in photo 20 with another longer metal rod. Fittings and various small parts have been sorted into compartments in plastic boxes as pictured. The auction includes everything you see in the photos, and only what you see in the photos - WYSIWYG. I do not know if everything needed to complete the ship is present. Please Note:
I am selling this kit “As Is."
