MIDWEST Boston Whitehall Tender Wooden Boat Kit #978. The Whitehall Tender’s origins go back to 1820 when they were used by “runners” off the New York waterfront to offer services to deep water vessels. Practical and graceful boats they are still popular today. This wooden boat kit employs a traditional build method to accurately recreate the tender. Kit contains all the fittings, hardware and timber to complete the boat, marked as skill level two “apprentice”, suitable for a modeler with at least some previous experience in model boat building, not really a beginners kit. Laser cut parts but you will also need to do some cutting, fitting and shaping of parts. A full size plan with details of cut parts is included as well as an illustrated instruction booklet that also has photographs of the full size boat for reference. It’s a good idea to make notes of all parts as you construct your model so that you can repair it if it’s damaged or even build another one from the plans and your notes. Finished model is 12” long and you will need tools and finishing materials which are not included (sanding sealer, paint, glue etc.) This model kit is new, parts still being sealed in bags, no storage issues and a nice clean box.
