Meng A39 Tortoise British Heavy Assault Tank - Plastic Model Tank Kit

This is the superb 1/35th Scale kit of the Nuffield A39 Tortoise Heavy Assault Tank by MENG. The A39 was built in 1944 with six pilot tanks completed before the end of the war. This kit is based on P1 the first tank of this type to be built. Several of the pilot tanks were shipped to Germany for testing and remained there tothe early 1950s. Despite its weight of 78tons, it was just as mobile as the lighter 42 ton Churchill tank of WW2. Its high velocity 32 Pounder gun was not surpassed in armour penetration until the APFSDS rounds introduced in the early 1980s.
The kit is of a moderate skill level with no interior parts provided. It has good exterior detail with textured armor effect. Detail sets are available to update the model to the later tanks which featured a pistol port on the side hull.
