Artesania Latina Charles W Morgan Whaler 1841 #601 Wooden Model Ship Kit 1:50 scale The Charles W. Morgan is the last of an American whaling fleet that included more than 2,700 vessels. She was launched in 1841, the Morgan is now America’s oldest commercial ship still afloat. This whaler can be seen at the Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, Connecticut. This rare model was built by Artesania Latina , the renowned Spanish model maker known for excellence in model ship building. This is a brand-new kit although the box shows some age. It did not come with outer shrink-wrap but the styrofoam interior trays are sealed and in the sections not sealed, items are bagged. The kit has never been started. My husband bought it in 1989 in Belgium. He was sure he would find time to build it, but he has given up on that idea! It is a project for an experienced ship builder. When purchased, the kit included French and German instructions . We acquired the full English instructions later. They are a photocopy--that is all that is available. All sets of instructions are included. Artesania Latina is no longer making the Morgan kit, so its value is likely to increase even more. Scale = 1:50 Size: L 30", H 26", Beam 5". She is a double plank-on-bulkhead kit containing a ll hardwood construction, factory-cut main parts (such as bulkheads), numerous die-cut hard and plywood parts, strips for planking, a complete set of numerous finished wood, brass and metal fittings, a finished hardwood display stand, brass pedestals, mounting screws and much more. Be sure to check out all photos; they are part of the description. Pictures are of the item you will receive. This is from a smoke and pet-free home. My shipping charge is ebay's discounted rate (which sellers can choose whether to pass on to buyers). The buyer pays for shipping but I will pay for extra insurance and Signature Required upon Delivery .
