Airfix is the oldest UK manufacturer of scale plastic model kits and has been producing kits for the mass market since 1952. Airfix produce a wide range of plastic kit models aimed at all types of scale modelers with subjects such as; military aircraft, ships, cars, dioramas and licensed pop culture products. The 'Female' version of the MkI tank was produced in larger numbers than its 'Male' partner, this was due to the four Vickers machine guns mounted on the sides, which were more effective in combat than the heavier guns carried by the 'Male' tank in the treacherous conditions on the Western Front.
