There are two sample pictures of how it looks once assembled (pictures 1 and 2).  This is the unassembled version with 101 parts. Up for sale is a 2001 A Space Odyssey custom Discovery X-D1 model kit.  This is a 3D printed kit that measures just over 44" in length (Scale about 160:1) and took nearly 8 solid days to print all the parts.  It was printed in a super quality layer height of 0.16mm with 10% infill so it's not completely hollow on the inside (see pic).   Unlike the Moebius kit with 486 parts you snap off the plastic pieces and spend months gluing together, this model kit is designed for fast easy assembly.  The un-assembled Moebius kit will cost you about  $150 dollars and is not stable/sturdy.  This kit is larger and has sturdy construction so you can hang it from the ceiling with fishing string and not worry.   It contains a total of 101 printed parts.  You will need to purchase a 48" long 1/4" diameter steel rod and cut it down to about 37 3/4".  Assembly is quite simple once you glue all the module sections as you just slide on each part.   I will note more specific assembly instructions below.  This is a 3D printed item and if you look real close you will see layer lines from the printing process, which is normal and don't stand out due to all the surface details in the model.  You may see an occasional plastic stringing, which happens in the printing process.  I removed any I found, but if you see any just rub them off with a finger.  It can be displayed as is or painted to add additional details. The model can be transparent and may show the infill if in front of a light.  I recommend once the model is assembled and glued in place you paint it with a white spray paint with built in primer.   This will take care of that issue.  You can use standard model or air brush paints to add any additional details if so desired. I will include a model sheet you can use for reference to properly place the 11 center modules.  There is a few variations how how you can place the modules.  Even the original film had variations in the screen shots.  I assemble the 10 module sections all the same and then flip them forward or backward to match the instruction sheets provided.

You will need  48" long 1/4" diameter steel rod cut down to about 37 3/4", Super Glue Ultra Gel Control works great for gluing the parts and recommend clear adhesive caulk (goes on white dries clear) to lock in the command module at the front end and the engine section on the back end.  PLA Gloop and IPS Weldon 16 are both glues that work the best.  You can find them online or sometimes at the hardware store.

The "A" module goes on top and the "B" and "C" modules are rotated forward or backwards with a round coupling between each section.  The "A" modules do not have divided section on them for reference.
