This is a poured resin hull in 1 piece, solid resin.  Thereby the bottom or keel may be a bit rough and may require some extra attention and work.  It's not a defect, it's how the kit is and the only way to guarantee a clean appearance and fit for the upper half of the kit MODEL KIT!-Assembly Required This kit will be shipped directly from the ISW warehouse.
